As the 500th Reformation anniversary observance approaches, countless bulletin covers, mementoes, and publications will reflect an image of Martin Luther. Over three Sundays, we will try to reach back over 500 years to try and understand Luther as more than a heroic reformer. In fact, he never called himself “the Reformer” nor the movement he ignited, “the Reformation.”
For Luther, only Christ was the Reformer and His return the only “Reformation”. Until then, we live and believe only in His word.
Please join us as we look at Martin Luther – brilliant and intolerant, compassionate and intractable, gentle and thundering, immovable faith and doubtful, a self-confessed “bag of worms” and sinless, pure, and perfect in Christ’s embrace. In other words, Luther was a man, a human being – a fascinating human being at that.

As we prepare for this year’s Harvest Home, we are reminded that:
“You shall keep the Feast of Harvest, of the firstfruits of your labor, of what you sow in the field. You shall keep the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in from the field the fruits of your labor.” Exodus 23:16.
St. Paul invites you to bring in any pantry food items and leave them in the basket provided on the Mission Wall in the Narthex hallway.
